Martello Tower
Nestled within the civil parish of Bray, County Wicklow, this historic Martello Tower—constructed in 1804—is the sole surviving example of the three originally built in the area during the Napoleonic era. Once owned by U2's Bono, the tower has been thoughtfully reimagined into a distinctive private residence. The structure retains its robust granite walls and circular form, now crowned with a contemporary glazed "drum" and conical roof that flood the interior with natural light . This sensitive restoration harmoniously blends historical integrity with modern design, showcasing the designer's commitment to preserving architectural heritage while creating a serene, light-filled living space that resonates with timeless charm.
