About us
At Baustelle, Alex and Liam Roedy merge contrasts into harmony: Alex, an accomplished designer and devoted mother with a refined, timeless eye; Liam, her adventurous son, whose minimalist aesthetic, layered with unexpected objects — from vintage motorcycles to aircraft turbine blades — gives each project a distinctive, narrative edge. Together, they balance experience with daring, crafting spaces that are elegant yet personal — where every clean line is enriched by story, and every room feels beautifully, intentionally alive. True to its name, Baustelle — German for “construction site” — is their elegant workshop, a place where raw ideas take shape and spaces are thoughtfully brought to life.
About Alex
Alexandra “Alex” Roedy’s work has always been rooted in family, global community engagement, and a passion for elevating how people live.
She launched her career in the dynamic world of media, building a reputation at MTV Networks International (MTVNI) in advertising sales. Her innovative thinking and sharp business acumen were instrumental in executing campaigns that resonated across cultures, and her time at MTVNI forged lifelong relationships with a diverse global network.
Alex’s creativity and impeccable eye for design eventually drew her to pursue her true calling in interior design and property development. Today, she leads a thriving practice that manages projects from start to finish—overseeing everything from major construction and restoration to the final layered details of interior design. Her specialty lies in transforming historic real estate into contemporary masterpieces, as seen in her own Miami Beach residence at Il Villaggio.
A dedicated global citizen and Churchill Fellow, Alex has also been a strategic partner to her husband, Bill Roedy, in advancing global health initiatives. Together, they have championed countless causes, notably hosting the Life Ball in 2019, Europe’s largest fundraiser for HIV/AIDS.
Above all, Alex treasures her role as a mother and wife. Raising four children alongside Bill, she has balanced her family life and career with grace—her nurturing spirit, leadership, and unwavering dedication creating a stable, loving foundation for all her pursuits.
