Martello Tower

Nestled within the civil parish of Bray, County Wicklow, this historic Martello Tower—originally constructed in 1804—will soon become the sole surviving example of the three that once stood in the area during the Napoleonic era. Previously owned by U2's Bono, the tower is set to be thoughtfully reimagined into a distinctive private residence. The structure will retain its robust granite walls and iconic circular form, which will be crowned with a contemporary glazed "drum" and conical roof designed to flood the interior with natural light. This sensitive restoration will aim to harmoniously blend historical integrity with modern design, reflecting a commitment to preserving architectural heritage while creating a serene, light-filled living space that aspires to radiate timeless charm.
