North Bay Road

We were drawn to the unmatched views and wide skies of North Bay Road, where a storied property once stood—Captain Burke’s “castle”—an eccentric fortress carved into coral and myth, which unexpectedly caught fire in 2009. After its demolition, we partnered with architect Alexander Gorlin to design a residence that honors the bay while embracing light, openness, and flow. Our vision—rendered in floor plans and sketches—includes breezy pavilions, shaded verandas, and walls of glass that dissolve the boundary between house and sea. With its private dock, iconic banyan, and panoramic sunsets, this space will be a future Roedy gathering place—built not just to impress, but to live, breathe, and last.
